Rüfüs Du Sol, stylised every bit RÜFÜS DU SOL and formerly known equally simply Rüfüs (stylized RÜFÜS) from 2010 to 2018,[1] [2] is an Australian group from Sydney, that consists of Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt. Their debut album Atlas peaked at number one in Commonwealth of australia, while their second album Bloom debuted atop the Australian albums chart in early 2016. Their single "Yous Were Right" won the ARIA Honor for Best Dance Release in 2015. While nevertheless known as Rüfüs elsewhere, they performed equally Rüfüs Du Sol in the United States because Rufus was already taken. In 2018 they changed their proper noun to Rüfüs Du Sol internationally.

They have performed at the Byron Bay Bluesfest in NSW in 2013, Byron Bay's Splendour in the Grass in 2014, Electrical Wood Festival at Double JJ Resort in 2016 and 2018, Mountain Sounds in 2017 in NSW, Coachella in 2016, 2017, and 2019, as well as Lollapalooza Chicago and Field Day on New Years Solar day in Sydney in 2019.

Career [edit]

2010–2012: Formation [edit]

The ring formed consisting of Jon George, Tyrone Lindqvist and James Hunt in Nov 2010. On 1 January 2011 they released their debut EP Rüfüs.[3] "We Left" their debut single was released on 25 July 2011.[4] Two tracks from the EP, "Paris Collides" and "We Left" reached Nos. 8 and 13 on the Hype Motorcar charts simultaneously, while the video for "Nosotros Left" was nominated as ane of 12 finalists internationally in the 2012 Vimeo awards for best music video.[5]

In April 2012 they released their 2nd EP Blue.[6] The double A-sided unmarried "This Summer"/"Selena" was released on 16 July 2012.[7]

2013–2014: Atlas [edit]

Their debut studio album, Atlas, was released on 9 August 2013.[8] It debuted at number 1 on the Australian Albums Chart on 25 August 2013.[9] It was preceded by "Accept Me" as the lead single on 8 March 2013,[10] and "Desert Night" as the 2nd single on 2 Baronial 2013.[xi] "This night" was released as the tertiary unmarried 22 Nov 2013,[12] followed by "Sundream" as the fourth single on 21 March 2014.[xiii]

2015–2017: Blossom [edit]

In June 2015, RÜFÜS released "Yous Were Correct", the lead single from their forthcoming 2d album. It peaked at number 22 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart and was certified double platinum. The album Blossom was released in January 2016 and become the band'southward second number-one anthology.

2018–2020: Solace and Solace Remixed [edit]

In May 2018, the band changed its Australian proper name to Rüfüs Du Sol. Lead singer Tyrone Lindqvist explained the name change: "I guess we don't really know any other bands that take two names throughout the entire world and then information technology simply seemed fitting."[2] They released "No Identify" on 25 May 2018. They after released the singles "Underwater" and "Lost in My Listen", along with announcing their tertiary anthology Solace.[14] A remix album was released in September 2019. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2019, Solace was nominated for 3 ARIA Music Awards.[15]

2021: Give up [edit]

On 13 July 2021, the ring released "Alive"; their first song in three years. In a printing argument, frontman Tyrone Lindqvist said "Information technology's a heavier vocal in some ways, just at its core information technology's hopeful."[xvi] "Side by side to Me" was released on xi August 2021. Jon George said information technology "is a song of devotion, caring compassion and pure dearest."[17] On 24 September 2021, they released the single "On My Knees".[eighteen] On the same twenty-four hours, they besides announced their quaternary studio anthology, Surrender, which was released on 21 October 2021.[nineteen]
